African Media and Malaria Research Network (AMMREN), was formed in November, 2006. It is a network of African journalists and scientists working together to reduce the burden of malaria in Africa. AMMREN has a membership of more than 100 journalists in 10 African countries. AMMREN is present in Burkina Faso, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania and Gambia. AMMREN is open to active journalists across Africa. AMMREN has over the last 19 years been actively involved in media advocacy for the elimination of malaria and other diseases on the African continent. AMMREN is the only media Network that worked closely with scientists and researchers who carried out the RTS.S malaria vaccine in 11 sites in seven (7) African countries. AMMREN is currently a non-state actor of the WHO- AFRO Region

AMMREN has published over 18 editions of its flagship magazine. “Eyes on malaria” and circulated more than 10,000 globally. AMMREN has produced documentaries and special editions of its flagship magazine on the RTS, S malaria vaccine.
